Also known as Manerba del Garda Resort or Amethyst Hotel, this hotel changed its name a few times in the last couple of years. Why isn’t clear to us, but there must be a reason …
The hotel is on a very remote location (nearby towns only reachable by car or taxi). Lake Garda is nearby but there’s no access to it from the hotel (nor a view at the lake!). Our room (21) was quite large and looked very tidy. Unfortunately the hotel suffered from a lot of technical issues (a/c unit not working for example) and a staff not willing to do a lot about it … Outside there is a nice and large communal pool. Friendly bar personnel and nice breakfast. Not sure we’d recommend this hotel though, but for a few nights it MIGHT be sufficient. We have stayed here for a couple of nights during our 2011 trip to Italy.

Hotel Ercolinio & Savi in Montecatini Terme in Italy is a nice hotel in an old building in the town centre.
Spacious room (our room was no. 206), friendly personnel. Breakfast was a bit “standard” (nothing really Italian about it) and our a/c unit made quite some noise. On the other hand, we got a welcome drink and a town discount card for free. Only paid parking in the street possible (right outside the hotel), but using a “hotel ticket” it costs only € 3,- per day (September 2011): make sure to ask for this! We have stayed here for a couple of nights during our 2011 trip to Italy.

Stylish historical building at the edge of the old town centre.
Spacious, nice room (room no 137), very nice breakfast. Wi-fi is free (after registration), but only available in the lobby. The a/c unit in our room was not working very well, hopefully it is fixed by now! Parking in the street only (staff will help out clearing a spot if needed). We have stayed here for a couple of nights during our 2011 trip to Italy.

Located in a nice park-like environment and at a relatively quiet location.
Very friendly waiters at the restaurant. Our room (no 101) was quite spacious, but somewhat noisy. Please be aware that during weekends this hotel can be a “wedding reception hotel”, especially during the summer. Good hotel if you travel by car and want to visit Rome for one day without having to stay in the city (train station Frascati at 5 minutes drive). We have stayed here for a couple of nights during our 2011 trip to Italy.
